Day 363 of 365

First of all, I figured out that I accidentally skipped a day in my counting, so this is Day 363 round 2 but the real one this time. How did I do that? It’s been a busy few weeks.
Speaking of busy few weeks, my son has been working very hard and made it to the finals in a music competition. Today, he won! It was a joyous thing, and I am so proud of him and so grateful to get to see him following his dreams. This was huge for him.
I had this feeling he might win. I knew he was very well prepared. He has a fantastic teacher and is quite devoted to his cello, but I think the universe was giving me signs. I know that sounds wild, and maybe it is. Still, there were some things that happened this week that made me wonder. Then, today, when we got out of the car at the competition on the coast, the first sound I heard when I opened my my car door was “fee-bee, fee-bee.”
And when they showed us to our son’s assigned rehearsal room, there, in the chair, was handwritten poem on a torn-out piece of notebook paper. This poem says it all for me. It is my struggle and my salvation. I hope you love it too.
Today, like every other day, we wake
up early
and frightened.
Don’t open the door to the study
and begin reading.
Take down a musical instrument.
Let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel
and kiss the ground.

“Let the beauty we love be what we do.” — Ah! Doesn’t that say it all!
