Drawing Like a Naturalist

Course Description

The course will run May 17- June 25, 2021.

In this class, you will learn to draw what you see through observational drawing. Naturalists used illustrations to help them with identification of plants and animals. As a homesteader or just a lover of nature, you will gain skill and confidence in your ability to observe and draw your surroundings through realistic illustrations.

Over the course of 6 weeks, you will learn to create drawings of plants, animals, bugs, trees, and structures through visual media of illustration and various techniques to aid in proportion and realism.

Pre-recorded classes will be available each Monday at 8:00 am with live office hours from 5:00 to 6:00 pm on Thursdays through Google Meet for those that would like in-person feedback.
