One of my favorite things about fall is the apple cider, and I love it served hot on a chilly autumn day. When our family is going to be home all day, I love to get a crock pot full of all-day apple cider going because it’s always hot, always spicy, and always apple-y.
I hope you give this a try because there’s nothing cozier than a mug of hot apple cider on a chilly day.
Ingredients
half gallon of apple cider (grocery store cider is perfect, but local cider from a farm is best)
whole cloves
cinnamon sticks
Supplies
crock pot
ladle
your favorite mug
Directions
Add one half gallon of apple cider to your crock pot. Add two cinnamon sticks and three to five whole cloves, depending upon your preference. Set crock pot to low and simmer for an hour or two. Reduce the heat to low and let it warm all day long. Throughout the day, scoop yourself and your family a cup of cider.
If you have company coming over, simmer a whole gallon. The smell will make everyone’s day, and the hot apple cider will surely warm everyone’s heart.
