Illuminism

by James Sands

science is illusive, the quest is never satisfied
in purest form and pristine element of purpose, science
seeks the betterment of the human condition
through the acquisition of knowledge over tradition

art is illustrative, the quest is never satisfied
in purest form and pristine element of purpose, art
seeks a better understanding of the human condition
through pushing boundaries while honoring tradition

music is illustrious, the quest is never satisfied
in purest form and pristine element of purpose, music
seeks to simultaneously support and define the human condition
through which, it elevates science, and art, and tradition

farming is illuminating, the quest is never satisfied
in purest form and pristine element of purpose, farming
is a lot of damn work, just a lot of damn work,
and animals, and muck, and dirt, and growing food and tradition
which, ultimately, feeds the rest of the human condition
